We are a South African global food business. Providing plant-based food solutions for
consumers. Doing this through creating, great food products based on Affordability, Taste, and Nutrition.
Through education, collaboration, and publicity we aim to create an awareness that “Food is
Medicine.” Instilling in people how personal wellbeing improves by consuming high-quality
nutritional foods.
We pledge in South Africa along with other countries where we operate, to engage with
women and youth with limited life opportunities. Providing, upliftment through job
creation, skills enhancement, and entrepreneurial enterprise support.
We will be conscious and continually aware of producing and procuring products that are
environmentally sustainable. This will be a continual ongoing innovative improvement
process. Through education of ourselves, staff, and consumers. Engaging with vendors who
rate sustainability as a priority. Developing new concepts, and technologies around
sustainability.

WHAT WE DO NOW AND ABOUT US
Wholesome Foods was founded by Ms Shireena Bagirathi in February 2011.
Shireena, being vegetarian wanted to create a wider range of vegetarians and vegans.
Which were based on traditional Indian recipes going back thousands of years. Recipes
which combine Herbs, Spices, Vitamins and other condiments to create healthy tasty
convieance and affordable foods. Minimally processed, without preservatives or additives.
Wholesome Foods is now headed by Mr Milkeet Singh. The business has developed into a
fully-fledged vertically integrated plant-based business. Having two hundred (200) products,
all created in house within its own Research and Development and AI centre. Wholesome
The business prides itself on emotional intelligence being able to successfully engage with
many peoples of diverse backgrounds and religious beliefs.

At the core of wholesome foods culture and beliefs are: Working with and training youngpeople (women in particular) moving people from unskilled to highly skilled staff. Plussustainability, Wholesome Foods key driver is a continuous ongoing programs toincorporate more and sustainable practices into its operations. A key objective of theprinting and packing unit is seek ways to minimise waste within householdsWholesome Foods has one Major Brand “Soyatarian” and four smaller, but growing brandssuch as “KarooKrisp,” “Dlamini.” Products are sold through many of the major supermarketchains and to about 120 smaller retailers in South Africa.
In essence Wholesome Foods business model and philosophy is to be at the centre off andmanage a diverse multifaceted business consisting off. Manufacturing, Distribution and Procurement Supply Chain. Requiring numerous physical and human resources.In order to undertake the above Wholesome Foods has twelve operating divisionsencompassing: A GMP (Food safety) rated, Agro Processing plant, Research, Developmentand AI centre, Sourcing and Procurement division, Staff training unit, Sales and Marketingdivision, Printing and Packaging, Media studio, Logistics, Consumer education unit, Outreachresource centre for Suppliers and Customers, Investment and finance unit and Exports(which we temporarily put on hold due to COVID).


By way of example, Wholesome Foods assists and works with both large and small Farmersand Entrepreneurs in its supply chain providing resources like education, contracts andworking capital. With Retailers we build strong relationships, through reliability, easy ofdoing business, training and promotions. Through training taking young unskilled peopleover time into highly trained staff. Creating an awareness and helping with practicalsolutions in sustainability. Encouraging and supporting innovation and new ideas.At Wholesome foods prides itself on being a responsive, entrepreneurial, innovativebusiness at all levels.
